What is Minnohawk?

Minnohawk describes a region of the Northwoods of Wisconsin that consists of 100's of lakes, chains, flowages, streams, and rivers that eventually join the Wisconsin River. Stretching from Lac Du Flambeau, through Minocqua, Hazlehurst, and Rhinelander - eventually ending in Tomahawk WI. Popular bodies of water in this region include Lake Tomahawk, Bearskin Lake, Clear Lake, Kawaguesaga, Mid Lake, Mohawksin, Lake Alice, Fence Lake, Nokomis, the Rainbow Flowage, and the Tomahawk River.

Minnohawk can also be described as the state of mind that occurs when one visits this area of the Northwoods of Wisconsin. We've tried to invoke this vibe into our lake home with carefully selected appointments and amenities. The Minnohawk Lodge sits on the 4000+ acre Lake Nokomis & Rice River Flowage, just north of Tomahawk where it flows into the Wisconsin River.

We often get asked "How to you pronounce Minnohawk?". It's easiest to break it down into two words; Minnow and Hawk, just like the fish and bird. Guest sometimes have difficulty spelling Minnohawk Lodge too. Common misspellings we see are Minnowhawk Lodge, Minnow Hawk Lodge, Minohawk Lodge, Mino Hawk Lodge, Minochawk Lodge, and Minoc Hawk Lodge.
